A Snapshot of London
Monday, November 2nd, 2009Hi, I’m Carissa… remember me? Traveling can take a lot out of you, and our whirwind trip to London definitely took quite a bit out of me, and so I’ve been a bit detached from my computer when not at work. I’m finally back, and have been trying out some new recipes in the meantime, so I’ll have quite a few posts for you over the next couple of days ;-)

London was absolutely incredible, and I swear I could move there in a heartbeat! I took the jump across the pond with Neha, and we went to visit one of my best friends (Pat) who is living in London until December. He’s living quite the life over there… I’m slightly jealous :)
Knowing that I’m quite the foodie, Pat took us to Borough Market, which is London’s oldest food market. They have rows and rows of tents that are filled with beautiful gems of produce, freshly canned jams and preserves, meats and cheeses, and even an organic smoothie bar (I got a banana smoothie with a wheatgrass shot… so good!)

I must say that the food in London wasn’t much to write home about (I guess I was spoiled with the Italian artistry of cuisine while studying in Florence), but we sure did manage to sample many of the beers and ciders ;-) The highlight of our trip was most definitely seeing the PATS play at Wembley Stadium.
